NVIDIA (NVDA) HURT BY DROID BIONIC

An additional reason that Nvidia (NVDA) is down today is a rumor that Motorola’s Droid Bionic has been delayed. Droid Bionic uses Tegra 2 chip from Nvidia. Please see our earlier post for Nvidia weakness today.

We have been writing on this blog and in articles on Seeking Alpha for a while that a big chunk of the graphics business of Nvidia (NVDA) is likely to disappear. For some unexplainable reason, most of the Wall Street has been oblivious to the coming reality. Today ThinkEquity lowered their estimate on Nvidia siting slowing growth and siting issues with the graphics card business. The stock has fallen $0.73 from its intraday high.

RARE EARTH MOLYCORP (MCP) ON THE RISE AGAIN THIS MORNING

Rare Earth Molycorp (MCP) is on the rise again based on the news that Molycorp and Ames Laboratory signed a cooperative research and development agreement on rare earth magnets. Ames Laboratory is part of Department of Energy.

There is also a bullish article in Intertaional Business Times.

Yesterday Molycorp rose when JP Morgan raised their target to $174.00. Morgan’s upgrade appears to be based on curbs on illegal mining of rare earths in China..
