BIG RED FLAG LOST IN HOOPLA OF GOOGLE’S PREMATURE EMISSION $GOOG $AAPL $RRD $LNKD $FB $AMZN $YELP

(GOOG) was scheduled to release earnings after the market close.  Inadvertently, earnings were released at 12:39 PM by its agent RR Donnelley (RRD).  Google stock fell about 9% before it was halted.  Both revenues and earnings were below consensus.  To make matters worse, whisper numbers were higher than consensus.

In my analysis whisper numbers crept higher, not because of fundamentals but because investors who move money from Apple (AAPL) into Google were justifying their move and analysts had to justify their recent upgrades.

CLOUD IS HOT, BUT THIS IPO IS PURE INSANITY $AAPL $GOOG $MSFT $WDAY $ORCL $SAP $IBM $CRM

Cloud computing is hot. Even lay consumers who hadn’t heard of it only a year ago, not only know about cloud, but now they use it every day.

If you are an Apple AAPL iPhone user, you are probably using iCloud. If you are a Google GOOG  Android user and using voice recognition, you are connecting to cloud. If you are using Microsoft MSFT  Office, you are probably connecting to SkyDrive, which in essence is allowing you to work in the cloud.

WILL OBAMA BE A ONE TERM PRESIDENT BECAUSE APPLE’S STEVE JOBS SAID SO? $AAPL

AAPL is a symbol of American innovation, but it has created more jobs in China than in America.

“IPad, the Macs, the iPhones, they are all manufactured in China,” Candy Crowley asked in the presidential debate Tuesday night. “One of the major reasons is labor is so much cheaper. How do you convince a great American company to bring that manufacturing back here?”
