Applied Materials (AMAT) announced a new breakthrough technology in semiconductor manufacturing. The challenge with semiconductors is printing an increasing amount in a small space.
One way to print more on each chip is to repeat a pattern twice. AMAT unveiled its new technology called Centura Sculpta. AMAT’s new tool allows for the pattern to be printed the first time with lithography and then the second time the pattern is printed it is actually sculpted from the first pattern.
