Joby Aviation is using electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL). eVTOL aircraft are similar to a helicopter, but are fully electric, quieter, and safer due to multiple tilting rotors. eVTOL aircraft are designed for shorter flights and may be useful as air taxis, for cargo delivery, and in emergency response.
