President Trump will likely announce the “Golden Dome” defense shield today. The Golden Dome aims to establish a comprehensive, multi-layered shield to protect the United States from a wide range of missile threats, including ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missiles.
Funding
The initial proposed funding is $25B, but over the long term, over $500B is likely to be spent. Herein lies the opportunity for the long term investor.
1000 Satellites
The system plans to utilize a vast network of over 1,000 satellites for missile detection and tracking, along with approximately 200 armed satellites equipped to intercept incoming threats.
A Key Feature
A key feature of the Golden Dome is the deployment of space-based interceptors designed to neutralize missiles during their boost phase. This approach is intended to provide a rapid response to missile launches, enhancing the system’s effectiveness against advanced threats.
