Best Buy has done an excellent job at becoming a showroom for Amazon.com. Now Best Buy is working hard at charging more than the competition, making poor service poorer and not stocking what customers want.
As a shopper, I gave up on Best Buy a long time ago in favor of Fry’s Electronics. Recently a Best Buy advertisement for a TV caught my eye. I happened to be right by a Best Buy store, so I decided to step in for the first time in several years.
I did not see the TV on display. It took about 10 minutes to get the attention of a person. This Best Buy employee promptly told me to go look more carefully at the TV wall and walked away. Frustrated I caught the attention of a second employee who was quick to respond without checking that if I did not see it, it must not be on display.

I responded that I was serious about buying the TV during the visit but I do need to see the picture and hear the audio. The response was telling, ‘œWe are not going to show you the TV so that you can buy it from Amazon. If you want to buy it, buy it; you can return it if you do not like it.’
