This development is negative for AT&T and Verizon (VZ). The development is neutral for Sprint (S). T-Mobile has been an aggressive competitor.
T-Mobile staying independent means more competition for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. AT&T will also have to pay $3 billion in a breakup fee.
