- QQQJ is a proxy for the aggressive stocks favored by the momo crowd.
- The VUD indicator is the most sensitive measure of net supply demand in real-time. The orange represents net supply and the green represents net demand.
- The chart shows that on an otherwise down day, the VUD indicator has been solid green all day.
- Normally, the smart money acts as a constraint on the momo crowd.
- Due to the holidays, smart money sold and has now gone on vacation until 2021.
- The momo crowd is now running without constraint and this is showing up in about 200 of momo’s favorite stocks.
- Typically, the momo crowd is able to act recklessly without any constraints between now and the end of the year.
- This year has been unusual and there is no telling what a certain segment of hedge funds who stay active during the holidays will do between now and the end of the year. Often when the momo crowd becomes reckless, these hedge funds short the market hoping to profit from their shorts in the new year.
- Only junior people will be manning trading desks. Sometimes this results in unusual moves in the market.
