Investors pay attention — an earthquake has occurred in marijuana land. The expectation is that marijuana stocks will do well when marijuana is federally legalized. This has been a matter of when not if.
Until recently, Democrats have wanted to legalize marijuana but Republican politicians have been opposed.
The Downdraft
When Biden was elected, and Democrats controlled the House and Senate, expectations were for quick legalization of marijuana. However, infighting among Democrats on higher priority issues bogged them down and Democrats made no progress. This is the reason for the downdraft in marijuana stocks.
The downdraft in marijuana stocks is likely a buying opportunity but there is an important factor that you need to consider first. This important factor will be discussed later in the post.
The Earthquake
The earthquake in marijuana land is that a Republican draft bill has come out to take the leadership of marijuana legalization away from the Democrats.
This is an important development because only 50% of Republicans favor legalization compared to 83% of Democrats.
The Republican draft bill is called States Reform Act. The bill is being promoted by Nancy Mace of South Carolina.
Here are the key points of the bill.
- Under the bill, marijuana will be treated the same as alcohol.
- Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau will regulate marijuana.
- The FDA authority will be limited.
- There will be a federal 3.75% excise tax on marijuana.
Tax-Loss Selling
Marijuana stocks have reacted positively to the bill. We are getting a large number of emails from subscribers wanting to start or add to their positions.
Investors need to be disciplined and look ahead. Looking ahead, significant tax-loss selling in marijuana stocks is likely before the year-end. The tax-loss selling will likely cause down spikes in marijuana stocks. Investors should consider taking advantage of these down spikes to buy.
Don’t Buy Without First Learning
We see a dramatic difference between two groups of investors. One group has made good money in marijuana to date. The other group has lost money and sometimes significant money in marijuana.
You may be wondering what is the difference between the two groups. Investors in the group that made money have attended the seminar Make Millions in Marijuana – Albeit Carefully.
Millions are to be made by investing in marijuana but it is treacherous. Before you risk your money, first attend the seminar so that you have the knowledge and the skills necessary to properly invest.
