Historically Buffett has not done well in technology stocks with the exception of Apple (AAPL). However, when he started buying Apple stock, it was a value stock. Buffett’s company Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) recently took a major position in Snowflake (SNOW). Snowflake is a data warehousing software company. By some measures, it is the most expensive company in the stock market.
SNOW trades at Price/Sale of 141. You read it correctly — it is price over sales not price over earnings.
Snowflake is one of the favorite stocks of the momo crowd. Profits have previously been taken on 35% of full core position size. It is time to take profits on another 10% tranche in the zone of $247 to $268. It is trading at $251.83 as of this writing. The remaining 55% will continue to be held for the time being.
Thinking in terms of full core position size, helps investors properly structure their portfolios. To learn more about full core position size, please read Trade Management Guidelines.
