Gold has been hit very hard due to funds liquidating their gold positions to meet margin calls. CLOSELY WATCH TO BUY TO COVER RBS, BCS, IBN, UBS

We have been short banks. UK government is investing $10B in RBS and $3B in BCS. We do not know how the stock prices will react. Should the prices begin to rally, we recommend covering in London. If the prices fall precipitously, again the right action will be buy to cover. If the prices open unchanged, we recommend buying to cover half and lose stop on the rest. BUY PPC (PILGRIM PRIDE)

PPC is down to $4.29 on announcement of major loss and non-compliance with debt covenants. We believe nothing material from longer term perspective has changed for PPC. Our analysis indicates that new agreement with lenders is likely. We had expected a loss double the street consensus of $0.86 due to corn and soybean prices.
